
R. Douglas Martin is a business and commercial real estate attorney in Lexington, Kentucky with more than 36 years’ experience in the practice of law. He has worked for several of Kentucky’s largest law firms, and focuses his practice primarily on commercial real estate leasing and acquisitions, condominium law, business formations and acquisitions, owners’ associations, and estate planning and probate. He previously served as General Counsel to the KY Cabinet for Economic Development, and served 4 years as the 10th District representative to the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council.
Doug served three terms as Chair of the Business Law Section for the Kentucky Bar Association and is a frequent speaker and author on business law, commercial real estate, and government financial incentives. He served as Chair & Moderator of the UK Biennial Real Estate Law Institute from 2008 to 2023, and also served many years as speaker and planning committee member for the UK Business Associations Law Institute and Kentucky Commercial Real Estate Conference.
